Contact — Michael McDonough, ASC BSC

Michael McDonough studied fine art at Glasgow School of Art, The Royal Collage of Art and was awarded a Prix De Rome in 1991. In the eternal city he confirmed a love of cinema. The art of cinema is always forefront in his practice. An MFA in Film from NYU brought him to the US, where he has primarily practised since. First day, first lecture, sat him next to Debra Granik. Their collaborations continued through to Winter’s Bone.

Michael has worked with many other great directors including ; Larry Kasdan, Stephen Frears, Michael Radford, David Mackenzie, Rodrigo Garcia and Terence Davies in film, and so many more in television.

He joined the International Cinematographers Guild in 2005, was invited into the American Society of Cinematographers in 2013 and the British Society of Cinematographers in 2015. Michael is also a member of the Directors Guild of America.
